BISK Services and Programs

Reception Office

The BISK Reception Area is located at the entry point of the school. This is where all visitors that enter the school are received, and it’s also the particular area of the school premises that receives initial calls from outside of the school inquiring about the school. The Reception Desk schedules appointments for visiting the school and serves as the first point of contact for arriving visitors. Here visitors are provided with information on where to go in achieving the purpose of their visit. The reception is also the waiting area for students and parents waiting for transportation. The BISK Reception Area is attended to by our highly qualified support staff with our Receptionist being in charge.  Any important information that visitors may need to know will be posted in the Reception Area on a main bill board.

“Inspiration through Exploration to Reflection How Art shapes their lives…”

Art stimulates imagination. To watch a child completely engrossed in art is to recognize that the brain is active and driven by aesthetics and emotions, to make meaning, state opinions and represent what matters to them.

Our Art curriculum emphasizes the development of a child’s fine motor skills, i.e., the development of a child’s body and mind coordination that takes place at a particular age when a child is going through the EYP phase. This particular phase plays a very important role in a child’s life since this is where he/she develops the ability to reach out to his/her creative potentials, which is then reflected in the higher grades:

  • Shapes & Colors
  • Application of Print Techniques
  • Basics of Origami
  • Drawing Skills
  • Painting Techniques

Education in visual arts is fundamental to the aesthetic, physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth of the individual. It provides children with unique ways of knowing, living in, and belonging to a global community.

Their creativity and imagination that they develop require channeling to have a constructive outcome.

"What can be learned on the ground cannot be learned in the classroom."

At BISK, we lay a strong emphasis on sports and physical development. Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for students to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control, balance etc. Sports today has also evolved as a form of entertainment and also offers promising careers.

We believe in mass participation, exposing our students to a number of sports events at every level. Every student is encouraged to join at least one school sports team. The P.E. teachers we employ are young and energetic with a good amount of expertise in sports and provide coaching for sports like football, basketball, volleyball, etc.

We have weekly achievable goals for the different skills required for a particular sport and train students accordingly. Intersection matches are conducted frequently.

For students to know the benefits of the sports they play, they are informed about the body parts and muscles that are developed when playing each sport along with game knowledge.

  • Swimming

Swimming is an all-around activity that includes muscular development, cardiovascular development, body and mind coordination, and endurable student fitness.

  • Football

Football is the most popular sport in the world, and every child should have the experience of playing the world’s number 1 international sport. We have superb football fields along with guided coaching.

  • Basketball

Basketball is the second most popular sport in the world, and it adds to the development of a child’s mind, tolerance, coordination and most importantly imparts a sense of rigor. Like any other sport, basketball requires a lot of practice and dedication.

  • Volleyball

Volleyball is a sport that requires teamwork and coordination. Children learn to work on a team, take responsibility and trust their teammates.

  • Handball

This sport develops a child’s wrist strength and teaches them agility. This sport is one of the first sports taught to children.

  • Athletics

Activities like Marathons, Sprint Races, Long Jump, etc. are all a part of Athletics which boost the morale of our students as they try harder with better preparation every time they perform. These activities stretch their abilities and enhance their stamina, muscle tone and have a number of physical benefits.

  • Gymnastics

Gymnastics is one of the most comprehensive lifestyle exercise programs available to children and adults; incorporating strength, flexibility, speed, balance, coordination, power, and discipline into a fun and challenging sport. Our professional instructors and state-of-the-art equipment give participants an amazing experience in a multitude of activities including dance, tumbling or cheering.

Self-confidence, team building, and positive attitudes are developed while gymnasts work on skills, strength, flexibility, and balance.

School labs are a great place for students which helps them enhance their learning by understanding the theoretical concepts of science which are taught in classrooms. At BISK we will provide a well-designed laboratory for helping our students to achieve good academic results, and make science experiments fun.

Books open up an entire world of stories, imagination, and wonder! Reading adds value to life, exercises the brain, and hone a child’s critical thinking abilities, which is why we emphasize inculcating reading habits in our children. Our Library Program encourages inquisitiveness in children and has been designed to meticulously ingrain reading habits in them by exposing them to a wide range of genres, allowing them to experience each in a balance and discover their favorite reading. Through various interesting follow up activities, fun sheets, narration, bookmark making, poster making, and various competitions, the child is hooked to reading more and more, hence learns to express critically what they have comprehended.

Our Kurdish, Arabic, Humanities and Religion lessons are based on the Kurdistan Ministry of Education curriculum and we are following the suggested books from the MOE.
