BISK Uniform Policy
All students are expected to wear school uniform. It is anticipated that parents will cooperate fully with this essential part of school discipline.
Nursery and Reception
Children in nursery and reception do not have to wear uniform. However they should wear comfortable clothes that they are able to remove and put back by themselves. Children in nursery and reception should not come to school in lace-up shoes and need to bring a spare set of clothes in case of any accidents.
Year 1 to Year 11
Socks and Tights: White, black, navy or gray.
Scarf (Hijab): White, black, gray or navy plain only.
Skirt: Girls skirts’ with the length no shorter than the knee.
Shoes: Black school shoes only.
Jewellery: It is a school rule that no jewelries should be worn in school. Only one stud in the lower part of the earlobe.
Tattoo: No visible tattoos (temporary or permanent) are allowed.
Make-up: Make-up and nail varnish must not be worn.
Hair: Hair should be tidy and in natural colours. Any unusual hair cut is not allowed and students will be informed if the hair cut is not appropriate.
BISK Students' Attendance Policy
Because we are concerned for your child’s safety and well-being, we ask that you notify the school by phone the morning the student is absent by 8:30 AM. Failure to do this will result in the student receiving an unexcused absence.
Types of absences are:
Excused: An absence due to illness, doctor’s appointment, or serious illness or death of a family member. Students must go to the teachers and request make-up work.Max authorized leave are 10 school daysand non-authorizedleave 5 school days.
Explained: An explained absence (not an absence due to illness, doctor’s appointment, serious illness, or death of a family member) is when a parent/guardian takes the student out of school with the principal’s prior knowledge and approval. Students will be required to get assignments for classes to be missed and an assignment form completed prior to leaving the school. The assignments will be due on the day the student returns to school. Failure to follow this policy will result in the absence being recorded as an unexcused absence.
Unexcused: An absence in which the student is out of school that does not qualify as excused or explained. The student will be brought to the office for disciplinary action and will receive no credit (0’s) for all class work missed. In the case of parent, not calling to report an absence by 8:30 AM the morning of an absence, the school will attempt reach the parents at home or work. Head of Admin has the ability to determine or change an absence from excused to unexcused, or from unexcused to excused.
Excessive Absences: A student who has more than 10 days of unexcused absences in a semester parents need to meet the head of school
